That's too funny! I love your sewing story, Mrs. Darling. Don't even talk to me about sewing!!! I have ripped out so many seams, sewed too many clothes that don't fit, and have had such trials that I don't enjoy that either.

The funniest thing happened. I clicked on your name on the comments on my blog thinking it was another Laura that read my site. I absent mindedly read your profile and thought, "Hmm i wonder if I should let Laura know there's another lady in Poland with five kids doing mission work." Duh! It didnt dawn on me until I clicked to your page who you were!

Now lets just say that mending and I have never gotten cozy with each other. I hate mending and sewing. I remeber one time as a girl I made a new dress and the first Sunday I wore it Pop pronounced the sleeves too short and told me that there was no need to try to get liberal in his household because it wouldnt work and that I was never to wear that dresa gain until I got those sleeves sufficiently below the elbows.

I told him I didn't purposely make the sleeves to not cover the elbow but that I just didnt cut it out right and sew it right. I'll never forget how he grinned and said, "Well Tammy coming from you I believe thats exactly what happened. Now get in the car or we'll be late." Lol Obviously he was wise enough to be more concerned about the intent of the ehart rather than the letter of the law. When he discovered there was no evil motive it was okay.

Now Robin, on the other hand, is a perfect seamstress thus would have never gotten by with sleeves not covering the elbow! :)

Oh, I'm the same way!I will wait and wait...there's just something about a 5- 10 minute job that's so hard to do.:-) I especially hate shortening/lengthening pants. And then I feel so virtuous after it's all done!

Vernon had I'm-not-sure-how-many-pairs of socks, white and black alike, waiting to be mended in the toes....they finally got thrown away because he has enough socks that I decided he could just do without those.....then I think about CAM and their outreaches and feel wasteful after I've done that!
